Cain Malroy Is Not Playing Games

Cain Malroy is a nine year old boy from the LA area. He took to his creative side and made an arcade out of cardboard. He used his fathers auto shop as his space and sells one dollar and two dollar tickets for four plays and five hundred plays respectively. Cain also sells T-shirts for fifteen dollars that have “Cain’s Arcade” written on them. He has yet to report his income, but he has received over two hundred thousand dollars in donations. He has become the talk of the town and receives a lot of publicity from the news and radio stations around. His success is do to a video that was posted on YouTube that has gone viral. I think that it is amazing that for how young he is, he has such a strong drive and sense of creativity. It would be great to see a follow up story some day about how he took his entrepreneurial skills into the professional world.

Drop Out to Success

Matt Mullenweg started his adult life as a political science major at the university of Huston. He soon realized that this was not the place for him and he dropped out of college. He then worked at a network company for two years before leaving and creating his own company. He and a friend started Auttomattic, an internet company that has brands such as word press and tumblr. It is great to see a success story where someone found out that school wasn’t their calling and decided to leave and pursue a different path. Mullenweg had extreme courage to leave the normal path and plunder into the path of the unkown. We sometimes think that to become successful we must follow the lead of many other successful people and go to college, the fact is that if the college path isn’t for you, you may still gain wisdom in other ways and become successful in your own way. Mullenweg is now the CEO of Automattic which currently owns Word Press and its over 70 million websites.

Entrepreneurial Starts Young

Like many young kids who live in suburban neighborhoods Ben Weissenstein decided to try and sell lemonade. He was only four years old and made only a few bucks, however this ignited something in him that he could not deny. As a young teen Ben followed his entrepreneurial spirit and created a garage sale business. His business at one time employed over thirty part time employees. His company helped people get rid of their no longer needed belongings. After awhile he decided to dive into a new realm of entrepreneurship, he started The Entitled Group. He was feature in Entrepreneurship Magazine and on Dr. Phil. Ben’s company helps young growing musical artists book concerts and shows around the country. Ben still keeps in touch with is garage sale business and is opening Grand Slam Garage Sales franchises near his home in Arizona. This is so neat to see how even at a young age of four Ben’s entrepreneurial spirit was there and continues to grow in him as he ages. He is only 19 years old and has already dabbled in three entrepreneurial ventures.

Is that Money I Smell?

For a young teen a silly joke became a money making venture. Hart Main’s sister was selling candles as a fundraiser for school and he said that they smelled too girly. He then had the idea to create manly scented candles. His little snarky comment has turned in to a success. Main has flavors such as campfire, bacon, fresh cut grass, grandpa’s pipe, and more. He had an initial investment of 100 dollars and his parents invested 200 dollars. He now has sold 9,000 units and is in 60 stores around the nation. Main has decided to keep to his studies mostly due to the fact that he’s only 14. Maybe one day his idea for the ManCans’ will take off and be see in Walmarts. It’s so cool to see how these young teens can find ways to create small successful businesses.

Too Good for ones Good

As a young teen Adam Horwitz created a website that identified where parties were in the area and a place to post new music. His website took off and he made money by selling add space on his website. After his immediate success, was an immediate shut down. The site guided over 800 people to a party and the website then had to be shut down. However, young Adam took what he learned and taught classes about how to make money online. One of his classes made 2.8 million in just three months. Adam new he wanted to create something and make money by doing it. I bet that he never thought that he would be able to make so much while being so young. He also took a failure and didn’t let it stop him. He persevered through his struggle of having to shut down his website, and made it into another opportunity to teach people how to become entrepreneurs.

His success started of very fast and slowly trickled down. He now is a YouTube creator and makes travel vlogs. His entrepreneurial mind shifted through out his life but he will always have that spirit. Adam’s story is a great way to see how you need to think before just starting your idea. As a young entrepreneur he started something that in his mind thought was a great idea, and in some ways it was, but as entrepreneurs we must think of our ideas, and see what problem we are solving, or ones that could potentially happen. Adam is know trying to help young YouTubers be able to become successful and does online workshops in order to help them start making money.
