Bull and Beard.

Robby Berthume is the co-founder and CEO of Bull & Beard. Bull & Beard was created to help other entrepreneurs get their business off the ground. The company has four sections of operations; Mavens, Mentors, Motivators, and Matchmakers. Each is designed to help their clients get to the point in their business that allows them to move onto the next step in setting up, or just a helping hand in creating a new pitch for a product. This company acts like an incubator as well as a helping hand in a current operating business.

Spire Global

Jeroen Cappaert was originally an engineer for NASA. But he found that he had an idea he wanted pursue. So he left NASA with two others to begin Spire Global. Spire was formed to specialize in data collecting from networks. They have launched twelve successful Earth observation satellites. The organization started out on Kickstarter. Then it moved into an incubator where they raised enough money to create their ideas and put them into motion. They launched their first satellite in 2014. Eventually they stopped creating the satellites and began to move into educational technology. They still are creating more advanced satellites and have a constant flow funding for their work.

Midjiwan AB – The Battle of Polytopia

About year ago, Felix, the owner of Midjiwan AB, released the free to play game The Battle of Polytopia. He started with a base game. And as time went on and the fan base grew he started to get a lot of good feedback, but was constantly asked for more things to be added to the game. So first he started to add new characters to the game that cost money, and the people ate these new characters up for they knew it was his only revenue. But still this was not enough. In response he sent out a forum asking his fans if they wanted to be part of update testing. This made the fans feel included in the process while there were not many people who played. As time went on Felix continued with this project and has gained a huge amount of plays and buys. As of right now his only market is word of mouth, which he has done very well at spreading the word around about this game. There also have been many social media accounts that have sprung up over this game. He is really good at what he does with moving his fan base but not allowing them to go over the top with what they want.

Panodra: The best music player.

Pandora was first founded in 2000 by three men, Will Glaser, Jon Kraft, and Tim Westergren. The company was funded $2,000,000 to create Pandora. Within a year they went through all of it and had no other funds for the project. Eventually one of the founders convinced the 50 employees to work for two years without any pay. They did not give up heart and worked until the release. At first, when Pandora was launched in 2004, it was for paid users only. But eventually they went to advertisements so that they could have free users as well. Today they are not the biggest user base for listening to music, sadly Spotify has taken that role. Even though Pandora is not on top they started the free radio to listen to only what you want to without having to spend any money.

My Space.

Tom Anderson and Chris DeWolfe. The two men who first created Myspace. The two saw the potential in another media platform. They started the project in 2003. At launch only the employees of the business they worked at had accounts, and they had a competition to see who could get the most friends to join Myspace. This is a form of marketing, using the word of mouth to spread the word of a product. The way the employees spread was quick and allowed Myspace to grow so quickly that the developers had a  hard time keeping up with all the new users and updates they were trying to implicate. But sadly, now, Myspace has lost popularity due to the famous Facebook. Which did everything that Myspace did better and with more functions.

Tiger-Stone, by Henk van Kuijk

Laying brick. This job is one of the more strenuous jobs out there. The art was also dying out because of how bad it was on the back and leaning over for hours. But now there is an easier, more efficient, and faster way of laying brick. Henk van Kuijk, the director of a Dutch industrial company, had enough with the back breaking work, so he decided to create a machine that did 80% of the labor that he and his crew had to originally do. He then invented the Tiger-Stone, a self laying brick machine where the only work the workers have to do is place the bricks in order and roll over them with a tamper. Henk saw a problem and wanted to find a solution to the problem of a pain staking process. So he strived and came out with a new and inventive machine that now will save much more time on brick laying.tiger-stone
