Mo’s Bows

Moziah Bridges grew up in a home in Tennessee, where fashion had a huge roll in his upbringing. His father used to walk around the house in suits, even when not going out in public. He was always taught to dress nice and present himself in a professional way. It was very rare that you saw a Bridges family member in a sweatshirt.Mo's Bows

When Moziah was 9, he remembers going to the mall and seeing very overpriced, low quality bow ties. Moziah begged his mom to buy one for him, but she said that they were way too expensive.  Moziah, who now goes by the name Mo, decided there to create his business, Mo’s Bows.

Mo’s grandmother was a skilled seamstress who taught him how to sew his own bows. This rocketed Mo’s interest in the fashion world. Mo’s Bows are high quality and affordable bow ties. Each and every bow is hand crafted and unique. While Mo is at school, his mother keeps the business going, and when he gets home from school, he helps her to package and ship the bowties.

The duo appeared on the hit television show, Shark Tank. While on the show, they gained the support of Daymond John who offered not only an investment but also an entrepreneurial mentorship. Starting off by selling bow ties on Etsy, Mo’s Bows are now featured on Amazon, ebay, and Mo’s personal website. Additionally, Mo has worked with the NBA becoming their personal fashion correspondent; many of Mo’s Bow’s feature the NBA logo.

Next year, Mo looks forward to graduating high school and going to college for fashion design. Mo’s story serves as an inspiration to other entrepreneurs, and he is a role model to young kids. He teaches the lesson that when there’s a passion, there’s a successful business to be unveiled. Mo’s business is something that he loves doing; so in a way, he never really works. Young entrepreneurs should take his business as a model of how they run their own businesses, find a passion and run with it.

Hoop Swagg

Socks. When I think of socks, many images come to mind: high socks, low socks, quality socks, cheap socks, thick socks, thin socks, plain socks, and fun socks. Having a pair of fun socks can sometimes just brighten up the day. Many people have their fun socks, but do you have any socks as unique as Hoop Swagg? Young entrepreneur, Brennan Agranoff, created a business that makes socks with incredibly unique designs.

During his junior year in high school, Brennan started searching for socks but not the plain athletic socks. He wanted something with a unique design but still an athletic sock. When he could not find what he was looking for in the market, he decided to create the socks himself. After long hardGoat Farm research, Brennan taught himself the process of code and graphic design and slowly started forming his business. With the help of his dad as his investor, the young entrepreneur opened shop in his garage where he could print the designs on the socks. His ideas for his designs can come from anywhere— some are random while others are pictures from around him, like the goats which are one of the most popular designs that he sells. His business, Hoop Swagg, originally started just as a sock business but then it expanded into the arm sleeves, face coverings, shoe lacings, and apparel. And surprising fact is that he is colorblind and can still create designs that are completely amazing. After five years in the sock business, Hoop Swagg generates over one million dollars annually.

Brennan enjoys his business even though he has a busy life with school, chores, and soccer. He also donates to See the source imagecharitable causes and has a page on his website where you can participate in fundraising. Brennan was able to find solution to dull athletic socks and created a business where he can have fun and make money.

Athletic Wear for All Shapes and Sizes

Krescant Marie is the founder of Krescant Marie Athleisure, a woman’s fitness brand dedicated to creating stylish and body-positive workout clothes for girls of all shapes and sizes. The brand focuses to “not only look good, but feel good.” After experiencing trouble finding athletic wear to fit her size, Krescant saw a common need in the workout industry. Often times workout brands only create athleisure for a “fit” body type, this makes it hard for women to get into working out. Some even are discouraged by the matter, and give up working out all together.

One of the first products by Krescant Marie is the DOUBLE STRAP SAUNA WRAP- BLACK – Krescant Marie a device that stabilizes and heats to encourage good posture and fat burn during a workout session. Also added to the collection are satin hats that can be worn while working out without messing up your hair. In lack of better words, Krescant has eliminated the all too relatable ‘hat hair’.

Next week, Krescant Marie is launching a fall collection including workout leggings, pants, and shirts all ranging from sizes XS to 2X. One significant aspect of this year’s fall launch is the variety of clothing offered; ranging from cropped t-shirts to waist-length shirts, Krescant Marie fits all body types, and makes them look good.

And if you still aren’t sold, krecantmarie.com offers a full online store, where clothes can be ordered without the hassle of in person shopping. Alexicia, a satisfied customer, reviews that the set she received is “super stretchy, comfy and pretty.” Additionally Zandra shopped for her daughter who was oversized and was “very pleased with the product” she also emphasizes the amazing customer service and speedy delivery.

Overall, Krescant Marie saw a need and jumped into action. She demonstrates empathy for those who find it hard to shop for workout clothes, and positively created a brand out of it. She is an inspiration to up and rising entrepreneurs that if something is inconvenient, we need to find a way to make it convenient.

Hope Outfitters

Hope Outfitters is a small business started by Ryan Welch that creates cute, comfortable clothing and accessories, and then donates all of the profits to charity.  They believe that even the smallest things can add up to the biggest difference.  Part of what makes Hope Outfitters an interesting business model is that not only do they donate all of their profits to charity, but they pick a different charity every year.  I think this is a great idea because this way, they can spread around their profits and pick relevant causes each year.  I believe this also makes it more appealing to customers, drives interest and incentivizes repeat customers because if they like the new charity they will want to support it.  Most of the products on the website are made in the United States which is also a nice plus.  Hope Outfitters also provides the guarantee that none of their products have been made in sweatshops or unethical ways, allowing the customer to buy with a clean conscience.  I believe that this company is a great example of how with 25 dollar shirts, one company can make a huge impact all across the world.

Raelynn Heath: Rae’s Materials

Raelynn Heath is an 8-year-old girl from Missouri who started her own jewelry business at the age of 4. She specializes at making bracelets which she sells on Facebook and Etsy. Raelynn was recently featured in the “1 Million Cups Black Entrepreneurship Showcase” on Feb. 2

8, 2018, at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.

Raelynn started making her bracelets out of plastic but upgraded to using acrylic and bubblegum beads when she was 5, and even uses materials like polymer clay. Raelynn also enjoys upcycling items such as chip bags, duct tape rolls, and old clothes. Raelynn’s business is unique because she has a generous purpose in creating most of her work. She gives bracelets to community members who have experienced recent trauma. Her big heart is a motivating factor of her business. Rae’s Materials is also unique because Raelynn has created this business at such a young age. Being able to create these bracelets at the age of four is a special talent, and it is amazing that she is using her talent to help those in need.

Raelynn hopes to increase her business to other areas of fashion as well but knows that school is her first priority at the moment. She hopes to study in Paris someday and get a degree in fashion. It is impressive that Raelynn has such a clear idea of how she wants her future business to expand at such a young age. Raelynn’s mom is in the process of helping her get a business license for Rae’s Materials, and her mom suspects that she could be on her way to a millionaire at age 16. Raelynn’s hopeful outlook and creativity has gotten her far in her entrepreneurial journey, and she will continue to grow her jewelry business using her great skill.

Jacob Zander, Spreading Positivity and Inspiration Through Footsouls.

Jacob Zander, a 23 year old from Santa Barbara, became a young entrepreneur after taking a college business class. He wrote in an article last year about how he developed an idea that he had been pondering through this class. At the end of the semester, Jacob had a product and a vision that he was ready and able to pitch to an investor.

Jacob’s idea of Footsouls, insoles for Converse, started when he was an employee at Trader Joe’s. With his friends, he frequently discussed that, although they wanted to wear their Converse to work, they always opted not to as they were too uncomfortable to wear for extended periods of time. To gauge initial interest for his product and idea, he asked his co-workers about it and sought their opinions. After this, because of his teacher, friends, traveling, and TikTok, Jacob’s insoles went viral.

Through his company and with his product, Jacob wants to inspire people and spread positivity. The product itself, a cream insole with the lettering “Feel Your Soul” written on it, was created to remind people every time they put their shoes on, to go out and truly live their lives. In addition to the insoles for Converse, Jacob’s company has expanded to creating insoles for Vans, clothing, and roller skates! Along with this, the company has a “Smile Fund” that takes a designated amount of every Footsouls purchase and uses it to give back to others.

What makes Jacob particularly creative, is his use of social media to help his company reach so many people. Before Footsouls was even born, Jacob filmed his entire creative and business process. Transparency was a huge goal of Jacob’s.  He wanted to show others his success hoping that they would gain the confidence they needed to succeed. Then, once he was able to manufacture the insoles, he began creating and posting TikToks. He used this as a way to advertise but also to give people a behind-the-scenes view of packaging and shipping process.

Since 2017, when Jacob was just beginning his journey with Footsouls, he has come a long way. With the help of mentors, friends, and social media, Jacob is inspiring others to follow their dreams and live every day to the fullest!

BBMilitaryWifeLife

BBMilitaryWifeLife is an amazing company started by a wife and mother named Brook.  She was inspired to start this company after having a blog.  However, once she realized that she could combine her two passions of earrings and awareness for the military community, she came up with BBMilitaryWifeLife.  Consequently, this company takes worn military uniforms and turns them into treasured and beautiful earrings.

This is a unique company as I have never seen another company take uniforms and make jewelry from them.  Most of the time you see people repurposing military uniforms it is by making bags, scarves, and stuffed animals.  I believe that the idea of being able to wear a piece of a uniform is very cool and a new part of the market.

I find this company specifically inspiring because my sister and I came up with a business idea for the Venture Battle very similar to this company that reused military uniforms into dog bandanas.  Having invested time and done research into this particular market, I have a great appreciation for what Brook and her company are trying to do.  The idea of reusing military uniforms seems to be a great idea because not only do people that have family members involved in the military want these products, but also just patriotic Americans want to support a company that repurposes military uniforms.

Three Nails Clothing-Derek Dahl

Three Nails Clothing is a clothing company designed for athletes who want to represent God’s kingdom. Derek was a college basketball player that wanted something more. He wanted to become a professional basketball player, but after college, he became a financial advisor. Derek knew he wanted to do something more than a 9 to 5 job. Finally, he used an idea that he had been thinking about for a long time, and after a lot of brainstorming and prayer, he finally decided to start his own company. Derek wanted comfortable, athletic wear that he could wear to the gym, but he also wanted something that represented his beliefs and values. In turn, he created Three Nails Clothing. Dahl wanted to create a sleek and minimal design that represented something meaningful to the Christian religion, so he decided to use the cross. The Cross represents God’s sacrifice to the world and seems like a perfect fit for Dahl’s company. He used clever designs to complete his logo by creating the cross with three nails, the three nails that nailed Jesus to the cross. Derek stated that “It is our hope that our brand’s subtle designs will allow you to cultivate conversations to share your faith in Christ with others.” This mission is beyond entrepreneurship and a clothing brand; what Derek has created is a brand focused on an eternal goal. The goal that brings others to Christ.

Something New In Fashion

Growing up, everyone is trying to fit in. From middle school up through adulthood, all everyone is trying to do is fit in and get on top of ever changing new styles. The fashion industry is never lacking with new inspiration. It is hard to stay on top of new trends, clothes, styles that different friends, family, athletes, and celebrities wear. However, as the designer it is difficult to create a style that someone hasn’t seen already. It has to be new, unique, and never seen before.

This young Entrepreneur does exactly that in the fashion industry, and has beenfor the better part of the last two years. Since graduating high school, Demetrius Mackey has started up working on his dream: designing new clothes, fashion, and style for people to wear. Traveling the world, from PA to California, to New York, and even Paris, he has had his product walk the runway in major fashion areas. It has even graced music videos by the likes of Lil Mosey, 6ix9ine, and many more.

Its a new style unique to him. He takes the time to ask people what they want to see on their clothes, rather than just give them something. He then incorporates new trends, and everyday things into his work. He paints, stencils, screen prints, and even draws all on the clothes he produces for people to wear. And they are taking the market by storm, and flying off the shelf.

Getting his product out was hard at first, but then came the word of mouth advertising and he was off and making products for anyone and everyone. He didn’t let the many challenges (bullying, being told no, saying its a women’s industry) to stop him. He kept his head down and worked. Published in many major magazines, in music videos, and gracing runways, this young Pittsburgh artist and stylist has being succeeding and opening new doors.

BLDR Faith

In the Bible, Jesus calls his disciples to go out into the world and share the Word.  As Christians, we should strive to share the gospel with others and live boldly.  Blake Stanley, a high school student from Urbandale, Iowa, took this mission to heart.Blake Stanley (@blakestnley) | Twitter

Blake wanted to wear clothing that displayed his Christian faith, but he found that a lot of them were cheesy and “in your face.”  He wanted to design a shirt that made people stop and think about the deeper meaning.BLDR Apparel (@BLDRapparel) | Twitter

Growing up, Blake was taught to use his gifts for the glory of God, and he wanted to use his creativity and entrepreneurial spirit to serve his faith. Hence, BLDR Faith was born in 2017. BLDR is an acronym for Birth Life Death Resurrection and is pronounced ‘bolder’.  These 4 simple letters hold the most powerful message in history, and Blake really loved that it could spark conversations about the gospel.

At the beginning of starting this company, Blake’s family and friends were apprehensive about BLDR because they didn’t want him to be judged for sharing his faith.  Despite this, Blake kept focus and reminded himself of Romans 1:16 which says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.”

Even though he didn’t get much support or money in the beginning, he knew that he was working for a greater purpose.  He stayed motivated because of the customers who would come back and tell him how they were able to share the gospel by wearing the BLDR merchandise.BLDR Faith – BLDR Faith

Blake is currently taking a year off college to expand BLDR and its mission.  His company donates 25% of all proceeds to various missions.  This year, part of the donation will go to The Salt Network, which helps to plant churches on college campuses across the nation.  Additionally, BLDR will be donating to IllumiNATIONS, which is an organization devoted to translating the Bible in every language.

I really love the mission behind this organization, and it’s evident how the Lord has used Blake to share the gospel through his t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc.BLDR Faith – BLDR Faith
