Hart Main: MansCans

Hart Main is a young entrepreneur who has gained recognition for his unique business, MansCans. MansCans is a line of canned scents that are specifically designed for men. Main noticed a lack of air fresheners that appealed to men and decided to fill the gap in the market by creating his own line of scents.

The scents offered by MansCans are all masculine and appealing, including “Fresh Cut Grass,” “New Leather Jacket,” and “Sawdust.” In addition to being a novel and unique product, the cans are also environmentally friendly, made from recycled materials.

Since launching his business, Main has seen great success. His products have been featured in several major publications, and he has even been invited to speak at entrepreneurial conferences. He attributes his success to his dedication to creating a high-quality product that meets a need in the market.

Overall, Hart Main and his business, MansCans, have proven to be a successful and innovative addition to the world of air fresheners.

ManCans

Hart Main, a young boy and brilliant millennial entrepreneur, at age 13, took up the brilliant task of creating candles that were targeted toward men by creating more manly scents. As a child, Hart would make fun of his sister when she would sell feminine scented candles for school fundraisers. Hart found himself giving his sister a hard time for selling only feminine scented candles to those at the school, until he realized that he could do the exact same thing but do it for males. Hart mentioned his idea to his parents, and they graciously poured money into his business idea, and helped him come up with the name of his company called “ManCans.” The company began to rapidly grow and develop, and later reached 6 figures annually. Along with an increase in revenue, the ManCans were sold in every state in the country. I find Hart inspiring because from even such a young age, with a small dream, so much came from it. Hart took his idea to his parents, who poured money into his idea, they then began trying out different scented candles, and once they liked the scents created, they began selling to customers. After teasing his sister, Hart put more thought into what he was teasing her about and sought to fix the problem. He took the right steps to fill the gap, and now, at a very young age, he owns a six-figure business. Hart’s story proves that even from a young age, an idea can develop into something more fruitful, and for some, that could look like something as big as a 6-figure business. Hart’s story also should inspire those who have even the slightest nudge to create or start a business to look further into actually taking action and developing the initial idea.

Man Candles

Hart Main is a thirteen-year-old entrepreneur who one day had an idea to create candles that had manly scents. he stumbled upon this idea when his sister was selling candles that had “girly” scents for a school fundraiser. Hart then went to his parents and told them his idea of candles that he manly scents. His parents thought it was a genius idea and took action on his innovation. It truly wasn’t until he wanted to purchase a $1,500 bike that he reconsidered putting his idea into a reality.  His candle is now handmade by the Beaver Creek Candle Company in Lisbon, Ohio, by a developmentally disabled workforce.

Hart noticed that there was a lack in the candle department where most of the candle’s scents were feminine and wanted to take action on this idea and began innovating. His man candles are both unique and interesting because there really isn’t any candle company that is only devoted to making candles for men. Hart’s name of his product “Man Can” is also innovating and interesting. The candles actually look like they are in a can, so that is also fun. What drove Hart was not only his bike that he wanted, but to provide a candle that men and boys could also buy and use and not have to worry about the girly scents.

Hart Main – ManCans

Hart Main saw his sister, Camryn, selling candles for a school fundraiser. He thought that the scents from the candles were “too girly.” About one month after, Hart completed a triathlon and said that he did not do well in the bike race, because his bike was older. He wanted a Trek racing bike that costed $1,200. However, his parents told him that he would have to buy it with his own money. In 2010, when Hart was only 13 years old, he founded ManCans, a candle company that sells “manly” scents in a soup can. In 2011, a soup kitchen in Lima received 200 cans of soup from Hart. The cans were projected to last approximately five months. A news station in Columbus heard about Hart’s company and broadcasted a story about it. The Associated Press also got word, which lead to Mancans being requested an average of three candles for every order. The cans were From 2010 until the time the article was written in 2015, Mancans have went from being created in Hart’s kitchen to being created at Beaver Creek Candle Company and sold in almost 150 stores in the United States. Mancans has also given thousands of dollars to many soup kitchens. As of 2015, the company has donated 100,000 soup cans and $35,000 to 25 soup kitchens in four different states. Most people would have never considered doing something that they at first thought was bad. However, Hart gave the candles a second chance and it resulted in great success.

Hart Main – ManCan

Hart Main was 13-15 years old when he created ManCan, a candle company that makes “manly” scents. The idea came when he made fun of his sister for her “girly” scented candles that she was selling. So, Hart, who was saving up for a  $1,500 bike, made it happen. He and his parents invested some money into making manly-scented candles in soup cans, came up with the clever name ManCan, and started selling.

They are now handmade by Beaver Creek Candle Company in Lisbon, Ohio, by a developmentally disabled workforce. The flavors have included Hot Coca, New Mitt, Grandpa’s pipe, root beer, gun powder, Santa’s beard, Dirt, Cigar, New car, campfire, sawdust, New York Style Pizza, and more. As of 2016, Hart’s candles are sold in every state, with sales exceeding six figures annually. Additionally, part of each sale is donated to soup kitchens in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Michigan.

Hart also went on the Steve Harvey show to talk about his entrepreneurship. When he told him that he was a freshman at Kent State, Harvey said “You know who you’re talking to? You’re talking to the most famous dude to ever flunk out of that school!” as Harvey went there as well. Additionally, in a different interview, he said that at first he started the business for purely selfish reasons, but keeps it going because of the developmentally disabled people and soup kitchens it supports.

Manly Candles Made by a Kid

The main character in this venture is Hart Main. The kid is still only thirteen years old. That has not stopped him from creating a business that does over one million dollars in sales every year. It all started when his sister was selling candles at school. He was making fun of them for smelling so “girly.” He then came up with the idea for candles that appealed more to the male senses. Girls are not the only ones who like good, quality sents.

He started to make them and put the candles in reused cans. He and his parents started the business called ManCans. He originally did it to save up for a bike costing $1,500. Now he makes millions. His parents invested a lot in the company and play a big part of course. They clearly have taught Hart good Morales and values.

Not only do they do they recycle soup cans as the holder for the candles in order to help the earth. They also donate a portion of every sale to soup kitchens in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. This generation is very empathetic and also environmentally concerned. Hart Main has clearly taken that into account in his marketing strategies.

The product itself comes in many manly scents. Some ones I thought sounded good were campfire, bacon, sawdust, fresh cut grass, and grandfathers pipe. The product is a cool idea and it is cool to see someone so successful at such a young age. People in college can not use the excuse that they will get started on their dreams later when this kid is out here doing this. We can all use him as an inspiration. I hope he got the bike that he wanted.

Hart Main – Candles

Hart Main was just a 13 year old boy with an interesting idea… manly scented candles. After initially making fun of his sisters for selling their girly scented candles, he decided they might be on to something when realizing he needed to save up $1,500 for a new bike he wanted.  From this humble beginning his company, ManCan, has now grown to exceed 6 figure sales annually. Now today, his company has partnered with Beaver Creek Candle Company to produce these hand-made candles with developmentally disabled employees, giving them a chance to for independence and pride in a well made product. In addition, Hart Main donates a percentage of each candle sales to various soup kitchens.

Hart Main is a unique example of an entrepreneur because he started at such a young age. While this is unusual, it is inspiring and shows that anyone with a good idea can succeed. Hart also shows me the importance of being generous and giving back to others. His partnership with Beaver Creek Candle Company and donations to local soup kitchens are unnecessary and things that he did not have to do. However, he decided to be generous and now it is a part of his brand and enhances its image. Hart has made me realize that in my own entrepreneurial ideas, I should be sure that my products are helpful to people in some way.

Candles With a Manly Scent

Hart Main was only 13 years of age when he came up with the idea of his manly scented candles. His sister was selling girly scented candles for a fundraiser at school, and Hart did not want any of the scents. This is where his idea was born.

Hart’s parents helped him found the company as Hart, at age 13, couldn’t do it alone. His parents contributed some money to get the company up and running and that’s when “Man cans” was born. With this clever name, marketing these candles would easily grab the attention of the male crowd.

The candles were made in soup cans and offered a variety of manly scents, featuring campfire, sawdust, and more. These scents really targeted the male audiences, as there weren’t many male scents before.

Man cans sells there masculine candles in all fifty states and brings in an annual gross income of well over six figures every year. This idea of Hart’s was life changing not only for him, but for his family as well

Hart donates to soup kitchens every year with some of the profits that Man Cans bring in. This is how Hart and his family give back to his community.
