Bella is a busy kid entrepreneur, but she still allots time to give back. She started the “Owlettes Initiative” in which she personally mentors young aspiring entrepreneurs ages 12-17. Bella shares tips with these kids and any advice from her success story. I think this part of her business is truly inspiring because she found a way to help others as well as keep up a successful business.

Bella says the best part of being a kid entrepreneur is, “…being able to encourage kids of all ages to not be afraid to reach for their dreams and never let anyone tell them they’re not good enough or their idea isn’t good enough.” Bella’s business Origami Owl not only lets people express themselves through their jewelry but inspires young entrepreneurs to take the risk to start making something they are passionate about become big.

Miracle Olatunji: Helping Students Discover their Passion

The evolution of OpportuniMe, and founder Miracle Olatunji - Technical.ly DelawareMiracle Olatunji is the founder of an OpportuniMe, a platform to connect high schools with opportunities for career development. She started it as a high school student. Olatunji created OpporuntiMe because she wanted to “democratize the process of helping people find opportunities.” Though she knew such programs existed, they were typically too obscure to discover. Olatunji gained her passion for OpportuniMe when she participated in the University of Delaware’s Diamond Challenge. This competition allowed her to see the power of entrepreneurship and how it can be used to instigate fruitful change. Olatunji wanted to start OpportuniMe as soon and as simple as possible; hence, it began as a newsletter. She is now working towards a website that will provide even more resources.

Olatunji is an admirer of social entrepreneurship. As such, she is working on another project called MIRACLE. Although MIRACLE is her first name, each letter represents something unique: Making Impacts, Raising Awareness, and Creating Learning Experiences. She states, “The vision is to create this organization, and under the umbrella of the organization would be social enterprises that meet the goal of creating and launching social ventures that empower, enlighten and educate people.”

Olatunji’s mission for students is clear: discover your passion, execute, and make a difference. She also wants young entrepreneurs to be ambitious, refusing to let their age or background limit them. Olatunji tries to encourage this by adopting Steven Johnson’s idea of a “liquid network,” which permits ideas to collide, connect, and evolve. This idea is evident in her effort to connect students with mentorship and other entrepreneurs. In a Forbes article, she shared: “You can’t really take an idea off the ground without collaborating with people and having mentors.”

Clearly, Olatunji values social entrepreneurship. Her investment in students shows her appreciation of guidance and how anyone, regardless of their age, can be innovative.

Sofi Overton – Founder of Wise Pocket

New Kids on the Block: Wise Pocket ProductsSofia had first found the inspiration for her company when she had witnessed her older cousin put her phone in her boot because she didn’t have any pockets in her leggings to hold it. Since her cousin was older and was an influence to Sofia, she decided she would follow her footsteps and try it out too. As you would imagine it was very uncomfortable. Ever since that day when Sofia was only 11 years old, she has wanted to make life easier for active kids and better for kids in need.

Sofia had made her first prototype by adding a pocket at the top of a sock, one that would be big enough to place a phone in. The idea was working great and her customers were loving the product, but Sofia was not going to stop there. She has also now created leggings of her own that have pockets large enough to hold your smartphone. Her goal for this product was actually not to only hold your smart phone, it can also be for younger children Shark Tank Season 11 Episode 10- Everything about Wise Pocket Socks and Leggings as seen on Shark Tank! R.J. Duarte and GreenWorx Landscaping

As a teenager, some people decide not to work, some people decide to go work a minimum wage job, and some people decide to start their own business. No matter what decision someone makes, they do not normally expect to take their summer job and turn it into a six figure business. Well that is exactly what R.J. Duarte did with his high school business.

At just eight years old, Duarte started mowing lawns in Golden, CO. He kept up with the mowing himself until middle school when he decided to add his friend’s help. They kept working and increasing revenue while adding additional help. They finally named their business GreenWorx when they were in high school. Duarte decided not to go to college while his partner left.

This change in partnership led Duarte to decide to make a change to the business. He decided to stop mowing lawns and switch to landscaping. Duarte stopped mowing his clients’ lawns and took the business to a new level by turning the business into a landscaping and maintenance company. Duarte saw this change as a way to increase risk and reward. It ended up being a good business decision.

Duarte acknowledges that his business started as a way of making money, but he also wanted to show the community that young people can be successful too. Although his intentions were for monetary gain, he wanted to show people not to underestimate people.

Duarte is a good example of an entrepreneur because he was persistent, risky, and found a need. He was able to stick with his business and earn six figures. An entrepreneur needs to be able to take risks in order to get the reward and Duarte did just that by changing what his business focused on. He also capitalized on a need he saw in his community: someone to mow people’s lawns for them. Overall, he possesses many attributes of an entrepreneur that allowed him to be successful in his startup and continuing business.

Duarte inspired me because he showed that you can start something small, like a high school lawn mowing business, and turn it into a way of making a living. He showed me that it is never too soon to think big. He chose a life path that many avoid due to its risk, and I admire that.

Ultimately, Duarte’s young success as an entrepreneur allowed him to get an early start on his success in life.

Mr. Beast has become one of the most famous YouTubers, and estimates of his net worth vary from $8 million to $25 million.

While several controversies have swirled around him, Mr. Beast claims to be driven by a desire to create impact through his entertainment. As he states in his Twitter bio, “I want to make the world a better place before I die.” Consequently, many of Mr. Beast’s videos have strong humanitarian and philanthropic themes. Most recently, Mr. Beast has partnered with the well-known YouTuber Mark Rober in a collaborative attempt to raise $30 million to fund the removal of 30 million pounds of garbage from oceans, beaches, and rivers.

Mr. Beast is an excellent example of how passion can be wedded with skill to create impact. Mr. Beast not only runs a YouTube channel—he uses his skills and wealth to create impact in other people’s lives in addition to entertaining millions of people. Hoop Swagg

Socks. When I think of socks, many images come to mind: high socks, low socks, quality socks, cheap socks, thick socks, thin socks, plain socks, and fun socks. Having a pair of fun socks can sometimes just brighten up the day. Many people have their fun socks, but do you have any socks as unique as Hoop Swagg? Young entrepreneur, Brennan Agranoff, created a business that makes socks with incredibly unique designs.

During his junior year in high school, Brennan started searching for socks but not the plain athletic socks. He wanted something with a unique design but still an athletic sock. When he could not find what he was looking for in the market, he decided to create the socks himself. After long hardGoat Farm research, Brennan taught himself the process of code and graphic design and slowly started forming his business. With the help of his dad as his investor, the young entrepreneur opened shop in his garage where he could print the designs on the socks. His ideas for his designs can come from anywhere— some are random while others are pictures from around him, like the goats which are one of the most popular designs that he sells. His business, Hoop Swagg, originally started just as a sock business but then it expanded into the arm sleeves, face coverings, shoe lacings, and apparel. And surprising fact is that he is colorblind and can still create designs that are completely amazing. After five years in the sock business, Hoop Swagg generates over one million dollars annually.

Brennan enjoys his business even though he has a busy life with school, chores, and soccer. He also donates to See the source imagecharitable causes and has a page on his website where you can participate in fundraising. Brennan was able to find solution to dull athletic socks and created a business where he can have fun and make money.

Mark Zuckerberg

Mark Zuckerberg, the multi-billionaire owner of Facebook is not typically thought of as a “young entrepreneur” but many people do not realize how long ago the story of Facebook began. Mark enrolled at Harvard University in 2002 at the age of 18 and quickly realized that there was a significant gap in the college students abilities to communicate with each other and share photos easily so he immediately started working on his own website and released “thefacebook.com”, soon changing it to the now well known name of Facebook.  Zuckerberg released the website at the shockingly young age of 19 and within the first two weeks of the project, more than half of the students at Harvard had signed up.  He quickly pivoted to looking at spreading his new website to other campuses and he and his roommates worked vigorously to do so. Mark’s company quickly skyrocketed in popularity and thus made him one of the youngest billionaires in the world. Mark Zuckerberg is clearly a very successful entrepreneur that continues to shock the world with his success and he has not stopped innovating, clearly shown by the creations of Instagram, WhatsApp, the Oculus, and much more!

Mikaila and the Bees

Mikaila Ulmer is the founder of Me and the Bees Lemonade. What I find the most interesting about her story is how young she was when she came up with her idea. Mikaila was only four years old when she was stung by a bee. This event drove her to learn more about bees and what they do for the earth. It was around this same time when her family encouraged her to enter a couple children’s business competitions. While searching for business ideas Mikaila’s great grandmother shared her homemade lemonade recipe with Mikaila. It was then that Mikaila had the idea to combine her great grandmother’s recipe with her growing interest in bees together. With the help of her family, Mikaila changed her great grandmother’s recipe to include honey.

Mikaila entered competitions and sold her lemonade outside her house at her lemonade stand. She continued to nourish her idea and sell her lemonade. Now about ten years later Mikaila is 15 and is still working hard to improve and keep her lemonade business going. Today her lemonade has won awards, comes in five different flavors, and is sold in a multitude of different stores. Something Mikaila has done since the beginning is donate a percent of the profits to help save the bees. This is something she continues to do today. Her story really comes full circle as the bees are what gave her the idea for the product and now, she can help the lives of the bees with the product they inspired her to create.

Something I really like about Mikaila’s story is how she continues to embody the spirit of an entrepreneur. Even at her young age and being a part of this business for her whole life she continues to foster it and improve it. When she is not directly working on her lemonade, she does other things to help support the Healthy Hive foundation. Which is just another way she has found to support the bees. I love how her idea is centered around one thing, the bees, and she continues to support them throughout her entire business and life.

Floral Farm

Have you ever wanted to create your own flower bouquets?

Camden Kidwell is the leading example of a young entrepreneur. He is a recent homeschool high school graduate and instead of going to college this fall he took the entire spring and summer to create his own flower farm and bouquet business. He started Swallowdale Flowers in June of 2021, and named the business after swallows which nest in his family’s barn. Swallowdale Flowers is unlike any florist business due to the fact that the customers can walk around Camden’s garden and create their own bouquets using his flowers. He has provided his customers with the ability for them to customize their own bouquets, which is unlike any other flower farm or floral business since the vast majority offers only premade bouquet arrangements. He does make bouquets though, on a weekly basis which he sells at 6ixNorth, a local artisanal craft store in his hometown. Another unique feature is that he runs his business from home – outside – where customers can be in nature and experience what it is like to be on a farm.

Additionally, Camden has recently been asked by a local event planning company to collaborate with them on a wedding. An acquaintance asked Camden to make a corsage for his homecoming date at the local high school. Camden continues to grow his business and network through his community. He is an example of why one does not need to earn a degree to become an entrepreneur. Swallowdale Flowers is the definition of a startup business, because he never received any help beyond that from his father. Camden Kidwell’s story shows us that all it takes to become an entrepreneur is a willingness to be disciplined, take risks and have an imagination. He is an inspiration and a role-model.

Hannah Grace: A Bubbly Visionary

At only eleven months old, Hannah Grace’s parents rushed her to the hospital. Doctors soon diagnosed Hannah with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) and her parents’ fear instantly turned to shock, disbelief, and worry for their young daughter. What they didn’t realize at the time, however, was that Hannah’s resilience and strength would allow her to thrive in the world of entrepreneurship.

Flash forward to nearly a decade later on New Year’s Day 2016. As Hannah’s family traveled to her favorite beauty store, her father left the budding entrepreneur with a challenge: make the same products and sell them herself.

Hannah took on the challenge full force. On the same day as the conversation with her father, Hannah began researching the necessary ingredients to make her first bath bomb. Hannah not only wanted to incorporate all-natural ingredients but also send positive messages to other young female entrepreneurs. Her solution? A bath-bomb that includes an uplifting message inside.

Since the debut of BeYOUtiful, Hannah has been featured on “The Today Show”, Teen Boss Magazine, and Snapchat’s “Our Money” series. Hannah’s heart, nonetheless, is what makes her stand out from the typical entrepreneur. BeYOUtiful donates a portion of its funds to JDRF, an organization dedicated to the research and advocacy of Type 1 Diabetes. With each bath bomb, Hannah is revolutionizing the beauty industry for young girls.
