Customer Segmentation from Silicon Valley

At his core, it seems that Darian Shirazi has always been a salesman. One who was clever with leveraging the internet to achieve sales. At age 15, Shirazi made a tidy enough profit on eBay to earn him an internship with the online auction house. He later expanded his internship experience with the fledgling Facebook startup in 2005. In 2008, Shirazi struck out on his own.

Continuing on in his entrepreneurial spirit, Shirazi declined to attend college and started a business. Fwix was created in 2008, as a hyperlocal news aggregator. Through acquiring information and licensing, Shirazi once again drew the interests of an internet giant. Google offered to buy Fwix for $35 million. Google’s offer was declined, by the newly-inspired Shirazi, who saw the opportunity for a flourishing business.

Going with a more professional name, Shirazi rebranded Fwix as Radius Intelligence. This new business focused on servicing clients through providing local sales information. The business is doing well with clients such as American Express, Adobe, and Capital One. Shirazi has high hopes for the company, hoping that his intelligence sales platform will lead the company to be a major player in the enterprise market for information services. Shirazi’s combination of entrepreneurial desire and his technical experience has been and hopefully will continue to be a boon to Radius.
